Real experiences from real travelers
The view straight down is absolutely insane. I was scared at first but the glass is so thick you feel safe. Booking online saved us a massive queue at the ticket hall. Highly recommend the slide down to the bottom!
Our guide picked us up from the hotel and handled all the passport checks. The bridge itself is spectacular, but the canyon hike afterwards was the surprise highlight. Beautiful scenery and very clean.
We went in August and it was very busy, but the bridge is long enough to find a spot for photos. Note: you cannot bring big cameras! I had to locker mine. Phone photos only.
The engineering is incredible. We did the 'Line B' ticket which includes the bridge and the canyon walk. The boat ride at the end was a relaxing finish. Wear comfortable shoes!
Very strict security but it makes you feel safe. The VR experience at the end was fun for the kids. Make sure to bring your passport or you cannot enter.
Photos cannot do it justice. It is high! We booked the private tour which was great because the park is far from the city. Our driver was excellent.
The bridge is the main event but don't skip the canyon. It's a lot of stairs down so be fit. The glass was clean and clear. Great for adrenaline junkies.
Went in December, less crowded than summer. It was cold on the bridge with the wind, so dress warm. The glass was slightly frosty which was cool. Easy booking process.
Everything you need to know for your journey
No. Professional cameras (DSLRs), drones, iPads, tripods, and thermoses are strictly prohibited on the bridge to prevent damage to the glass. You are only allowed to bring a mobile phone (securely attached) and a small wallet/purse. Lockers are available at the entrance.
Yes. The bridge is constructed of triple-layered tempered glass and can withstand immense weight and wind. It undergoes daily inspections and has a strict capacity limit of 800 people at a time.
The bridge remains open in light rain, but for safety reasons, it may close during severe storms, strong winds, or heavy snow. If the bridge closes due to weather, you are typically eligible for a refund or rescheduling.
The bridge is located in Cili County, about 60km (1 hour drive) from Zhangjiajie city center or Wulingyuan. You can take a bus from the Wulingyuan bus station, but a private transfer or tour is highly recommended for convenience.
There are no specific weight or height limits for walking on the bridge, but visitors must be physically fit enough to handle the walking. The Bungee Jump (optional) has its own weight restrictions.
Yes, absolutely. The bridge has a daily visitor limit, and tickets often sell out days in advance, especially in peak season. You must book online and provide passport details.
Line A is for the Grand Canyon only (hiking). Line B (most popular) includes the Glass Bridge and the Grand Canyon hike/boat. Line C is for the Glass Bridge only and is often restricted to afternoon slots.
Yes, there is a luggage storage facility at the entrance where you can store prohibited items like large bags and cameras for a small fee (usually 5-10 RMB).
The bridge itself is accessible, but the full Grand Canyon tour (Line B) involves many stairs and steep paths that are not wheelchair friendly. Visitors with limited mobility often choose Line C (Bridge only) but should check current accessibility protocols.
